Reflection

This is will be my last post with the ending of the last semester at college where I’ll conclude my blog with the useful things that I’ve learned through this course. During this course I’ve made a training session to my classmates and it was the first time that I did a training session where I noticed the differences between the training and the presentation that we usually do almost for each subject at college. It was a useful course where I’ve learned about Google tools and how I can use it through such of training sessions by my classmates where some of them make my life easier and help me a lot. Below I’ll share with you all the tools that I’ve used and how it helps me.


  1. Google Chrome:
    Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. This Browser provides us with variety helpful and useful tools that am going to include in my site. I’ve used Google Chrome to download many Apps such as Google Calendar, Google Maps, Google Play Music, Picasa, Dropbox, My Chrome theme and some games. Also from the Apps I’ve downloaded a theme that gives me the chance to have my own and let my browser look different than others.

  2. Google Searching: 
    The tool of Google Search provides you with an easier, faster search and it includes many features that are helpful. I've used this tool for Advanced Search which helps me to search easily by narrowing the result that I might get. For example, I’ve use it in order to search for Blackberry Q10 & Z10 plus, comparing it with Samsung. In addition, there are many fabulous features that I’ve tried such as weather feature, time features, and dictionary definitions. For instance, I've typed (weather Dubai) in the search box and then you can see what the weather look like, also you can apply this feature for any country or area that you want to know what the weather look likes in it.

  3. Google Calendar:
    It is a free online calendar that provided by Google and it’s one of Google tools that give you an easy way to keep track of all important events in your life in one place. By Google Calendar you can create your own calendar to set all your events plus you can share any events you want with your friends, colleagues or you family member with many additional features that the calendar includes. I've used this tool in order to set my important college's tasks and some other events.

  4. Google Docs:
    This is another tool that is provided by Google in order to create and share your work online and access your documents from anywhere with your friends, colleagues and anyone that you want to share with him/her your work. Also through this tool you can manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations, surveys, and more all in one. From my point of view, this tool is seriously a useful one that gives me a chance to work with my group in our project at my home without any problems by having the access to see our report at the same time with the chance of editing each other parts. I've used and apply Google Docs through my daily life. Recently, I and my colleagues Arwa & Noof decide to complete our Accounting report by using Google Docs, so we can share the documents and write it together.

  5. Google Maps:
    To view maps and get directions Google Maps is the best choice. It's beneficial tool which let you explore places around the world and give you the specific direction with the street numbers. There are many features that Google Maps include such as satellite, view pictures of the places and weather. I’ve used this tool in order to get the direction of Oasis Centre because I don’t know how to get there and by Google Maps I went there easily.

  6. Google Sites: 
    To create and share webpages use the tool of Google Sites that provide you a free and easy way to do that. Recently, I've use it twice as it's required for two of my college projects. First, I’ve created a site with several pages to explain Google tools and how I use them. Second, I’ve created another site for my photo-essay project.

  7. Google+: 
    Google+ is another tool that has many features such as; sharing, creating Friends, Family, Colleagues or any group that you want to create a Circle for it. I’ve created two circles for my friends & family where I’ve share some of my blog posts with my friends circle.

  8. Blogs:
    Blog is free weblog publishing tool that provided by Google. This tool allow you to create your own blog with gorgeous themes and it’s useful and helpful for sharing photos, videos, articles and even your life’s diary. Also your friends can put their comment upon your posts. This year is the first year that I've used this tool as one of my projects requirements I've to create a blog about my diary where I've several posts to share them with my friends. For instance, I’ve shared Photos, Videos and Music. Seriously I liked and enjoyed using this tool.

  9. Gmail: 
    Gmail is useful, efficient and even it can be used for fun purpose. Gmail is another tools that also provided by Google and it is different by having many unique features than the normal email that people tend to use it. From my side, I've used the Gmail for several purposes such as; I’ve added my signature so whenever I send any email from my Gmail the signature will be appended at the end of all outgoing messages. In addition, I've chosen a theme and apply it on my Gmail, so it will have a different look than others’ Gmail.

  10. RSS Feeds:
    Google Reader is another tool where you can stay up to date with your favorite websites that you would like to read. So, all the sites will be in on place with this tool which will make it easier for you to read all the favorite sites. I’ve used this tool in order to subscribe some sites that I want to keep track with their updates. For example, I’ve subscribe Al Bayan Newspaper and a movies web.

  11. Social Bookmarking:
    Digg and Delicious are social bookmarking services. In my daily life I've just used Digg where I can read Top Stories, Popular and the Upcoming and digg what I like. I sign in with my Twitter account after that I read such articles & stories through digg and I share some of stories that I liked with my contacts in Twitter.
